Not many good places to eat in Llangollen, the corn mill very much the tourists eatery. Good beer but expensive for the area. The food was ok, but again expensive for what it was. we did have to wait about 30 mins to order, then the food took even longer to arrive. The setting went some way to up for it, outstanding views across the river to the bridge, little steam trains travelled along the track. Marvellous building. Pleasant staff, though the menu is fixed, no substitutions. robgriffs - 31 May 2011 08:52
Excellent choice of real ale's. Tried a couple and both were superb. The food looked good but I didn't sample any. Well worth a visit. ICTGringo - 29 Oct 2010 22:21
Odd restaurant which brought our mains before the starters. Instant mash and tinned very salty soup! One of our pints was off although the rest were fine. Mostly alright. slugbreff - 13 Sep 2010 20:00
Came here on the way to Snowdonia on Friday night, and was so impressed that I revisited for Sunday lunch on the way home. Food was excellent both times, and five real ales available (presumably from microbreweries as I'd not heard of them). I will say it's quite expensive (at least £3 for a pint and £9 to £14 for a main course), but it's well worth paying for. Interesting old building with fully working waterwheel and lovely riverside views. Probably the best pub I've been to in Wales. pubcollector - 8 Sep 2010 21:29
Another Brunning & Price classic, they really know what constitutes a good eating pub- for it is that. You can go for just a drink though, so it is a pub. Converted mill on 3 floors with as many original features as possible, including Waterwheel and many oak beams. the decking outside overlooking the River Dee and steam railway is a real draw. Food excellent and reasonably priced. 6 handpumps including Cottage Deltic Diesel, Phoenix Monkey, their house beer and Cambrian Gold from Stonehouse. Always in tip top condition. It's a must to go once but not one you'd include on a crawl I suspect. Still in this day and age it's what I'd call brilliant. Carlurmston - 26 Sep 2009 15:31
