Had the worst pub meal ever here last night. Their idea of crushed potatoes is to plonk some muddy, unwashed potatoes on a plate with fish which can best be described as long dead and a pile of lettuce. When the "salsa" turned up it looked like boiled carrots and onions. Their idea of vinaigrette is to offer you vinegar. Terrible. Putting things right consisted of washing some of the potatoes. They insisted we pay for half of it though it was barely touched. The worst service I have ever experienced. Don't go.

A lovely "local" pub which serves good beer, superb food and has a very welcoming atmosphere. Two bars (take the right hand side one) and a warm real fire in winter with a lovely garden for the summer. They specialise in fish food dishes but the menu is by no means restricted to this.
Try one of their starters (enough for two if having a main meal as well), they are delicious! The Sunday roast is good as well, 10 of us are going there this weekend.

Had a good lunch here in July. We went here instead of the Malt Shovel because the beer garden round the side has a good enclosed grassy play area. Ignore the scruffy car park area when you arrive (unless you want to sit outside the front door). This is not a gastropub by any means but it is a good honest pub.
