| Well, I'm not a local....yet, but I've yet to have a bad time in this pub. I've always found the staff to be friendly and the licensee and his wife are more than welcoming. I once had a pint here, which was poured with a rather head and and landlords wife came and took it away saying "we don't do big heads like that in here" before topping it up properly. I was in there last week and the roaring fire and staff made it a very warm place indeed. The landlord knows how to keep a good pint in the John Peel and the guest beers are great. I know that some people have said they've had a disappointing time in here but I can only say that my visits here have been very enjoyable and I for one, will definitely be going back....the 'Christmas' guest ales are worth a visit alone!
