Comfortable pub isolated on the edge of Romney Marsh. Dark Star Hophead was in tip-top condition and served at exactly the right temperature. Cheese and ham omelette - with real ham - was cooked to perfection. Cheerful staff. Recommended.

Four real ales were available including a lovely refreshing golden ale from Sambrooks straight from the barrel. The menu consists of classic British dishes and I had the lamb hot pot followed by the Bread & Butter pudding at a cost of £15. The portions were large and the food was delicious which may explain why the pub was doing a god trade on a Tuesday evening. Staff were pleasant. The pub's in the middle of nowhere and is recommended.

Visited in April 2010, pleasant pub, crowded even though it's seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Went for a meal on a Friday night, but couldn't eat as they were fully booked. Undaunted we booked for the following night and it was worth the wait. Excellent food reasonably priced. Will definitely revisit when next in the area.
