Check out Monday night trivia - it's heaps of fun and you can win prizes. The Albion is really close to my work, so we often go there after work. Friday night has a great vibe, but the downstairs bar can get packed, so I prefer the upstairs area. Issie78 - 25 Nov 2008 11:34
I had my 30th at the Albion and it was a blast! The upstairs area I reserved was a perfect size and we had our own private bar. The staff were really friendly and no request was too difficult for them. I highly recommend it as a party venue (or of course for a drink after work)! izalami - 17 Nov 2008 21:22
Good venue for the area. Perhaps it's the credit crunch kicking in, but on the 4 or 5 Friday nights I've been there, it hasn't been overcrowded or uncivilised. Good food as well as decent ale. The platters to share are excellently done. AshingdonMan - 28 Oct 2008 20:23
Apologies my first post misled - I was only drinking softies, and it was table service, so my comment that there appeared to be one or two ales was based on squinting across the pub! Four or five ales sounds better, and I shall return to sample them at some point (and will adjust my rating if necessary). grecian - 26 May 2008 19:28
I visited on the same day as Grecian. IIRC there were four or five ales on handpump. My pint of Young's Ordinary was perfectly acceptable. Weirdly I appeared to be one of the few Brits in the place, the bar staff being Polish(?) and a large group of Dutch and a table full of American ladies of a certain age comprising much of the clientele. twm_sion_cati - 19 May 2008 11:53
