A very disappointing visit! The staff member on duty(?) was very unhelpful when we asked for a menu. The Landlord was more interested in talking about golf with his friend than helping the barmaid. What a shame. Ideal location to be a true winner both for the local Hangleton residents and visitors to the area as it is very near the end of the track running up to Devils Dyke. The current Landlord seems very unimaginative. The food was good, but sadly let down by the ambiance and VERY high prices considering it’s location (we pay less in the centre of Hove). Our advice would be to go to The Hangleton Manor or for a more rough and ready, but reasonably priced venue, The Grenadier. junecow - 9 Dec 2010 18:49
I 'umbly agree with Uriahheep, not really worth going out of your way for. Only 1 real ale on other than Harvey's and that wasn't in very good nick. Still, I needed the stamp for the ale trail. Won't bother with the trail next year if this place is still on it. persist_artist - 7 Oct 2010 16:06
Pretty fair locals pub but not worth going out of your way for. Couple of guest ales - nothing special. Food looked reasonably priced. uriahheep - 2 Aug 2010 21:56

Agree with concho's comments - great pub. The food is second to none, good honest fodder. The pub is close to the old railway line that ran up to Devil's Dyke.So a walk up to the Dyke and back followed by a few beers makes agreat day out. Zumo - 14 Mar 2010 18:54
