Great location pub, and catered for our hungry family when we descended on it - and at a reasonable price. tommo5 - 11 Aug 2011 18:09
This pub has a wonderful location is modern, serves good ale which is kept well. However, this has to be balanced against often being ignored at the bar at busy (and not so busy times) if you are not recognised as a local and a rude landlord who isn't afraid to offend. On Christmass Day I visited with wife, two children and my disabled friend who struggled up the steps in order to wish people a Merry Christmas, only to be ignored for 10 minutes at the bar with time being called at 1pm. When I explained the our situation (staff having seen us enter) I was told "It's my Christmas Day too you know" in no uncertain terms. As we left without argument 'known locals' were still being served! So if it's a quick decent pint you want ok go for it. However, if you want a few pints in a friendly, appreciative atmosphere take a two minute walk up the road to the Rashleigh and enjoy. Acky1 - 13 Jan 2011 12:37
Very nice modern pub with a nautical feel to it. Very clean, thought the staff were good. Nice pint of Cornish Knocker too realalechav - 4 Sep 2010 19:55
Indifferent unprofessional rude staff with no knowledege wine although they tried to advise! - window table ordered which was pased on to the staff. waitress said 'If I could change your table I would'....but there were several window tables that were unused for the whole of the time (4 hours!) that we were there!. Food not bad but could be improved easily. Hobbit56 - 9 Oct 2009 18:34
