| It's worth visiting this pub simply to view the painting on the wall. It's of the shipwreck of the Bencoolen sailing ship in 1862 and there is another wall with a painted narrative of how it went down. It's truly a museum piece. We stayed there; we were walking the coastal path and they offered us the top flat even for one night, even though they don't do bb as a routine. Very nice menu and good range of beer in top condition with friendly bar staff. Lots of locals in the pub. They deserve to do well in this run down town. GrahamH - 20 Apr 2008 22:51 |
