Couldn't believe our luck stumbling on this place. Warm welcome from attentive and knowledgeable landlord, Kevin and staff. My husband thought he'd died and gone to heaven - great beers on tap, fabulous atmosphere, excellent food and great wine. Although there are expensive things on the menu, you can eat cheaply too so don't have to spend a fortune. We stayed far longer than we'd planned and have already booked again. Best pub I've been to in years. elizabethjane - 25 Jan 2012 14:29
After visiting this pub tonight, I can honestly say I have never had such good service, such a warm welcome, and such good beer in Kent, or the UK. The landlord took the time to talk, enthusiastically, about his beer with me. (He assures me Timothy Taylors is going to be a permanent feature soon, alongside Harveys Sussex and Doom Bar), the rest of the staff were as attentive and the whole place had an amazing warm atmosphere. If I never go to another pub as long as I live I will be a happy man. We decided to go after booking through top table and reading the reviews, and what a find. Thank you to the whole team for making our christmas meal so special, we shall be returning soon to sample the Timmy T's! bigkev1979 - 18 Dec 2011 00:03
Fantastic Food, good beer ... In a 13th Century building. Formerly The Pilgrims Rest and before that The King's Head, if you are after a quality meal this is definitely worth a visit. Hods100 - 7 Sep 2011 17:51
By discouraging people from congregating round the bar and insisting on taking orders at the table (yes, even for drinks), they've effectively turned this into a posh restaurant and snuffed out yet another village pub. rentaquote - 3 Apr 2010 21:58
I liked the look and feel of this place. Food was very good and served in good time. Only down side was the odd tasting coke in tiny glasses. Beautiful area and friendly staff. High point was seeing may father in-law bang his head against a beam as he read the sign to duck. theskinnyfatkid - 16 Mar 2010 23:52
