This is a gem as others have noted. Out-of-the-way, but very much worth the trip. It is a friendly, old-fashioned local, with good beer (including Exmoor Antler) and very good, inexpensive food. No TV, no jukebox, no Sky Sports (thank goodness), but some very good conversation with the locals. Some very lovely, friendly but sleepy dogs lolling about on the flagstone floors. 9/10

You can't go wrong by visiting this rural gem. Grub is slightly pricey but worth the money. Beers are always excellent and Alan and Cheryl run a tight ship. Version of the Norfolk pub game 'Twister' on the bar wall made by a local pub games enthusiast. Definitely the place to go, and even better as mobile phones won't work here...

Built in 1851 as a thatched Inn and in hands of present landlord Alan for last 16yrs. To his credit little has changed bar excavation of fire place in eating area. Lovely original flagstone floor & cosy bar area with log burners. 3 hand pulls and today the weak beer (Masterbrew) had gone, Otter Ale was not best, but Otter Claus 5% was in good condition. Menu a bit odd, but food is excellent, if a tad expensive – Bangers+Mash £9-95. Otherwise, a lovely unspoilt village pub.
