| A friend and I left the White Horse at Sandway last night. We'd arrived earlier to find the four hand pumps, only one having a Whitstable Bay Stout clip. After a lengthy wait she began to serve a coupleof poor-ish pints. "No bitter?" "No it's gone off and I probably won't have time to put another on". Oh well. With a live band about to start, 50 or 60 people and a bout of double parking we hurried away from the unwelcoming place, and visited the George. What a contrast! Friendly pretty barmaids, clean fresh smelling bar and a good pint of 'Late Red'. The blackboard listed some tasty sounding meals but we'll have to return for that. | Wow! Visited The George Inn in Leeds Village for a few beers on Saturday night (6th November 2010) and had a great time, friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere and felt very relaxed indeed just like pubs should be even though the place was packed! Wasn't rushed and never waited to be served. The beers and lagers tasted very good too! Decided to go back for Sunday lunch (7th November) as we always judge pubs on their Sunday roasts! No need to worry as this place certainly does a top roast - I had the half shoulder of lamb and it was a big plate of tasty food. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone - always welcomed, friendly faces and smiles - I've been to pubs where I don't get a welcome nor a friendly smile. | On the whole a very unpleasant experience. Been twice now and wont be returning. I am a vegetarian and asked for their only vegetarian option, the Lasagne. I received the meat one, and didn't find out until I tasted it. I immediately spat it out, the short haired waitress that had taken my order just stared at me disgustedly. I explained to her that I am vegetarian and that she must have made a mistake. No apology, she just whimpered, "Well you get what you ordered, and you ordered the lasagne bolognese". She then promptly disappeared. After a couple of minutes she then returned and took my plate, she stated that they will change the meal, although refused to admit her mistake. After waiting a further 20 minutes she then returned and hastily dumped the plate on the table and walked off. Giving me the distinct impression that I had done something to offend her. Well I left the majority of it as the friends I was with had already finished their meal, we paid and left.
