Thats great news mcroyal, i was actually born in this great boozer back in 1969 when my grandparents were the licencees - Eric and Eileen Darnborough. I remember them running the pub when customers came in for a drink and a sandwich at lunch time and just having a good time in the evening's........ A fantastic building that should never be converted to flats - it has far too much character superfrog69 - 25 Apr 2011 08:52
Good news - the council refused planning permission for this pub to be converted to flats,so it is up for grabs as a local boozer. All we need now is a brewer to take it on and make it a proper pub again - no yobbish behaviour/no machines/no loud music - real ale and basic pub grub; pub games and a great atmosphere - simples!! mcroyal - 29 Mar 2011 14:49
Closed and has an application for conversion to flats. mcroyal - 13 Aug 2010 13:48
It can't still be closed, surely? I lived round the corner for a year and this was the best little boozer ever, and had the best guvnor in the world (Roz, obviously). I live far away now but miss it still. x DuncDisorderly - 24 Sep 2009 00:46
