| I visited this pub last Saturday afternoon for the first time in 18 months. As mentioned previously it is much more of a restaurant than a pub. Every table was set for diners. Formal, leather bound menus were stacked near the door. Despite around 20 other people being in the pub I was the only one who actually went to the bar and bought a drink. All the others were diners who ordered the occasional drink via the waiters. I'd be interested to learn if this place actually becomes more of a pub at night. I decided to join the diners, sat down with my pint of Woodland 'Oak Beauty' and ordered a hot beef and onion baguette and chips. Both the ale and the food was very nice, especially the homemade chips.
