I went to this pub recently as I was looking for a country pub with food for a place to go after work in the area. Couldn't have picked a better place - cracking proper pub with a bit of history but now in good hands and looks like it has been for a while. Food is good and the locals use it (says a lot) and there were three decent real ales on of which all were good. A great atmosphere with a good set of locals at the bar, the landlady (who is sadly leaving soon) is delightful and is a real positive factor in the place. She will be missed, I will return, do yourself a favour and give it a go. I don't give 9's for nothing!

Revisited on a Sunday at 5:30 p.m. Pub was quite busy with a crowd of friendly locals. Three real ales on. A vast improvement on my last visit.
Blackboard menu included quite a lot of veggie dishes, which is very encouraging.

Visited early in the week. Clean light interior. Been refurbished since our last visit. Four ales on including a local microbrewry straight from the cask. Friendly barman and regulars. Beer in good condition and taster freely offered. Bonus was an easily accessible dartboard. Would go back again.

Guy that runs this place I think is the same guy that used to be batman at The Horns . A right know it all. Very clicky pub. Not going back

The problem with BITE is that the score is based on times when a pub was bad, now it's much improved. The barman was very affable and the beer quality was very good. Three real ales, one of which is 'interesting' usually from a microbrewery. A light airy, very clean pub. It actually show football on a large screen but it goes back into a wall mounting after a match and you wouldn't know it was there. I will return.
