GREAT FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE! What an amazing evening. We went to this venue for a friends anniversary dinner and it was fab. We only live half an hour away and had never been before but will definatley be going again. Great staff, wine and most of all great food food. foodystuff - 12 Dec 2011 15:17
I was introduced to this pub recently by some good friends, who couldn't rate it highly enough and i must say i agree. The quality of staffing, the selection of real ales is very rare these days but the quality of the food is just outstanding, the quality i'd expect in a london restaurant but at very reasonable prices. After taking a group of clients there last week and the excelent service given in the victoria room (private dining room off restaurant which seated 12 of us on a large old dining table) i'd like this opportunity to thank the manager and staff for their excellent hospitality. My only (constructive) criticism is that your website pics need updating as they do not do your restaurant/bar justice. Hope to see you soon. jayontravels - 7 Sep 2011 19:06
Good foody pub, neatly done up, probably at the expense of some of its character but a fine looking place none-the-less. Apart from, it has to be said, the bonkers Spitfire/wolf pencil sketch over the big fire place (after the style of those mawkish wolf-moon-faux-American-Indian-twaddle T-shirts). A praise worthy choice of beers and the fish and chips was top draw stuff thank you very much! I shall return. Billyfish - 3 May 2011 20:07
Superb pub for food and drink. Set in the gorgeous rural village of Egerton, the setting is superb and the building has maintained its period feel inside. They always seem to have 5/6 ales on - a few staples such as Harvey's, Masterbrew and Youngs, but at least a couple of guest ales (I go there fairly regularly and they always seem to have a new one on). The food is to die for - really high quality. I have had a number of meals there - steak, pies, fish and chips, Sunday Roast and specials such as braised ox cheek in red wine, which was delicious. I cannot recommend this pub enough. SteveTreacle - 19 Apr 2011 15:00
We ventured out to this pub after seeing a review and must say were not disapointed. Great selection of real ales which was good to see these days and apparently excellent wines (so my partner said). Would def go back the food was absolutely great. beerinweek - 29 Oct 2010 16:13
