Classic tiled interior - but empty and unloved. No ale, no customers (when me and the missus dropped by there was just one owlarse NI guy drinking bottles of lager). Seems to be some renovation work going on at one of the bays. This is a grade II listed building though so hopefully it won't fall foul of the developers.

Sadly this pub is now a bit run down and unloved. No real ale and no customers. Up for let with Admiral Taverns who are no doubt just waiting for their moment to sell it off to a developer. A real shame.

Come one, come all : lovely sausage rolls. Now beat down the door for scouse in the winter ; chips in the evening and continued support for this fine pub

Sausage rolls are now on!Along with some fine beers.Snecklifter,Butcombe,Abbot & Old Hooky amongst them.Glad to have this pub back on my regular roster.Same staff on so transition has appeared to be smooth. Not so sure that Diane & John have found that to be the case but don`t worry the punters are happy!

Called in on Sunday evening 27/04/14 had a nice pint of Ringwood Forty-Niner. The new landlord looks like he isn't going to do anything drastic, like sushifying it up, hopefully.
Best of luck to them, this is a really great local pub, would hate to see it loose it's soul.
