Recently had a spruce up outside and in.
Usually 2 or 3 real ales on tap.
London pride was nice and have had a nice black sheep too.
Staff a liitle distant and yes,its a bit Cliquey but has authentic pub charm never the less.
Darts, pool and Shove Ha'penny leagues.
Large screen TVs for Major sports, oh and football.
Landlady puts on a good buffet spread for Doo's too.

2 of 6 pumps in use, Bombadier was very enjoyable, didn't try Rev James. Lots of historic Welsh rugby memorabilia on the walls - didn't notice any Ushers stuff. OK place, proper beer is rare in Newport beyond the 2 Wetherspoons.

A run down 'lived in' kind of place (lived in as it feels like someone does actually live in the bit by the piano). Worn down carpets and fittings and beer mats that have been doing sterling service since 2006 (well my pint was resting on a National Pub Week Feb 2006 beermat). Went for the Wickwar BOB but it was nastily off so had it replaced with a pint of Rev James...which was mediocre. Another duff GBG entry.

6 handpulls but only Pride and an admittedly good pint of Thomas Watkins Cwrw Haf on. Not dirty as previously described. Still Ushers memorabilia inside and out to scare the punters away.

Beer is overrated. Can only be described as average pretty much of the time. Also very clique.. "Are you local"? Pub decor has also seen better days. Very grubby.
