More of a restaurant than a pub, but as we had made the effort to visit we took a space at the bar and looked at what was on offer. London Pride is a bit of a usual round here so went straight for the Ringwood Best. Eggghh - can't be one of their best sellers as it was a bit tangy and flat. :-( My mate had a Peroni and the round cost a small fortune so we didn't stop long - just lucky as we were asked to move out of the way for the lunchtime regulars. Not really for drinkers cosyseeker1 - 15 Dec 2011 22:47
We had heard very good things about the food at The George & Dragon, so popped along for lunch one day. The menu is absolutely fantastic, full of delicious sounding food but sadly it didn't live up to our expectations. We both ordered crab sandwiches, but there was barely any crab in them at all - it seemed to be just bread and mayonnaise! Having said that, because the menu is so good and the pub is lovely, we will probably try it again soon for a dinner. childrenanddogs - 5 Sep 2011 13:31
Disaster !! it seems the decent barman was only filling in for a few weeks, popped down again and was confronted by a Napoleonic character called Frodo who barked orders at the hapless bar staff but even his beer fueled comments couldnt help them to pour a decent pint. Food looked good so I reckon if you are eating give it a try but if you are after a pint try The Swan in Arborfield speedytriumph - 17 Aug 2010 23:04
What a lovely country pub, popped in at the weekend, Pride and Brakespear on tap, most amusing knowledgeable barman and attentive waitresses, what more could you ask for speedytriumph - 9 Aug 2010 09:45
Revisted the other week. Similar experiences as before except that the beer wasn't as good and the girl behind the bar was friendly but clueless - I've not seen a simple order for a pint and a half of beer take on such a surreal form before. Dali would be proud. Quinno - 14 Jul 2009 12:39
