Truly first-rate establishment. The staff have a sensitivity to what's good in food, drink and atmosphere that's a real privilege from which to benefit. Understandably, in turn the pub attracts customers who appreciate these things, so your chances of striking up a genuinely interesting and informative conversation are better here than anywhere else locally, I'd say. Substantial, traditional structure in an old building, with some tasteful modern touches.

Bit chilly on a cold February day as the heating had bust, but the welcome was warm and the locals friendly. A good selection of well kept beers, most of which were micro-breweries I hadn't encountered before, from Rossendale and Wigan. Food was hearty stuff reasonably priced and the young bar lady very pleasant and knowledgable about the beer.

Superb pub. If you only go to one pub in Brighouse this has got to be it. Six or seven local real ales changing regularly. Friendly bar staff who make you feel like it's your local. No loud music or gimmicks, just a lovely atmosphere and really good beer. Come in here with a gang of mates for a night out or on your own with a paper. Mixed age group too so never too young or too old. Perfecf.

Excellent pub. Just visited its annual beer fest and I think I'll be back next year. 48 beers all at £2.20.

Fine pub, really good food. Excellent choice of well kept real ales. No Sky tv.
