I have visited here on 2 occasions the first one for food which was far from pub food, it is a little on the posh side for me but very nice all the same and also a little expensive, certainly good for a special occasion. On a second visit it was just for drinks and was very impressed that the guy behind the bar remembered what drinks we had ordered earlier in the eve, and yes it was very busy in there, little things like that go along way,the service was very good

Visited Sands for a lunchtime business meeting recently and really enjoyed it. Friendly staff, good beer and an excellent choice of both snack lunches and more interesting meals. Definitely worth a try and apparently they do a good Sunday lunch too.

We had a lovely dinner at Sands yesterday. Very friendly service, delicious food and wine, lovely freshly baked bread. The portions are not the pub size, but very adequate. Not the cheapest of places, but not too bad – 2 course dinner for two with two large glasses of wine - £39.50. Good for special occasions.

area full of snooty snobs who didnt like my bikers jacket not very welcoming and im reliably informed the bands are nowhere near as good this place used to jump on monday nights id rather jump in a vat of xxxx

We went back to the Bleak(call it what you like...it will always be the Bleak) for the first time since Joe and Chris left.Bad Influence were playing and had a good crowd there, lots of old faces. Not alot of food being served and if the management read this then drop the food on a monday night and give us back our music night.....you'll make shit loads of money! The place lacks character and has lost the pub feeling.
