| Visited The George twice in one day. First for a cup of tea (there's a distinct lack of tearooms in this part of Kent) and then later to partake of some fine ales at their beer festival and to eat good home-cooked food. Friendly staff and a characterful pub. pomona - 26 Jul 2010 23:09 |
| Despite living only in the next parish, I hadn’t been in here for years, so I took the opportunity provided by an evening meeting in Ashford to pop in on my way home. A foul March night, the pub was fairly quiet, but the locals welcomed me, and I joined them in reminiscence of local worthies. The beer range was fairly limited-Adnams Bitter, Brakspears and a couple of others, but my Adnams was in top order.The pub hosts a couple of beer exhibitions, the next being in April. The newish couple in charge previously ran the Woolpack in Warehorne, and similarily high standards are evident here, though we haven’t yet eaten at the George. 7/10 wittenden - 21 Mar 2010 22:09 |
| I have just taken over management of this pub with my husband. It's a great pub very traditional as pubs should be! We have a new menu that is going very well, check out our wednesday carvery, thursday steaks and friday curry nights! With 3 well kept real ales on the bar and 2 beer festvals coming up what more could you want!
