| The George has all the hallmarks of a pub that has tried to turn itself into a trendy bar and failed. Consequently it’s now a pretty poor bar with, I suspect, all the characters and faults that made it fail as a pub. Not exactly dying on it’s arse but I reckon it’s fairly close. | brilliant atmosphere, staff really friendly, everyone seems to be there to get on. place absolutely buzzes at times. little things like the staff doing shots and dancing at 11.00 add to the atmosphere. i dont even live in the town (work there) but make an effort to drink there as often as poss. roll on friday!! simon - 23 May 2005 17:50 |
| Old Town pub with a loyal band of followers, run by Mark and Catherine. Pedigree, ESB, lagers, Scrumpy Jack. Atmosphere usually excellent with antipodean bar staff and various promotions/themes.
