| Worth seeking out, decent choice of beers, in a modern bar/pub setting. rob372 - 21 Nov 2011 17:44 |
| Returned yesterday just over a year from my first visit. Still a very impressive place. 6 beers on offer spread over 2 bars. Service was great considering that the bloke behind the bar was also trying to cope with a Hen party in the other room. Well worth seeking out. cheshirecat - 3 Jun 2011 08:48 |
| Modernised pub of two halves which kind of works, with a bar for the telly and a quieter lounge. Does have a 'gastro' edge to it though not as full on as most. Tried the Skinner's Betty Stoggs which wasn't the best pint of it I'd had. Can't say I'd hurry back although if you are in the vicinity there is very little else around worth bothering with. | Last night this pub gave me shelter from the snow and the best steak I have had in years. All that and beer from Skinners too. 10/10. cmofish - 17 Dec 2010 16:21 |
| This is the perfect local. Landlord keen to make relationships with regulars, without being intrusive. An incredibly cooked and very well made menu (most things under £10). A wide range of wines, ales AND ciders (the really cloudy Somerset stuff particularly good). A fireplace, regular football put on quietly at weekends, friendly punters. As locals go, this ticks all the boxes, I just pray it doesn't go out of business, the way of some other small locals... edb543 - 22 Nov 2010 20:42 |
