Totally gone to pot. When it first opened it was like a breath of fresh air but GOK how it stays open these days. dromdick - 18 Nov 2011 22:18
This used to be the Battle Inn, but it is now a polish pub for polish migrants that come into reading for an evening gathering, not much cop if you cant speak the language as they dont speak yours most of the time, Robbie.H - 7 Jul 2011 09:10
On our visit there was no draught beer. There were no other customers except a few girls and a guy. the girls went off with men who came in. This is a knocking shop for prostitution. delpus - 19 Jun 2011 18:51
Avoid like the plague. fender100 - 12 Nov 2010 11:24
Used this a couple of times for food at quiet times (early midweek eves) and was impressed ... portions are huge, especially meat content, and authentic (try the buckwheat pancake filled with "goulash" or the Golbaki) ... bit pricey for pub grub but OK value considering, and until some enterprising person opens a proper Polish restaurant off the Oxxie Road ! Really friendly crowd when it gets busy, I'm Hungarian but love the Poles, but gets a bit intimidating for "oldies" like me late Friday / Sat nites when you can hear the music blaring and bouncers outside ? Obviously not a "real ale pub" but full marks for what it does. and long may it survive ... lauraeva - 12 Aug 2010 18:29
