Now under new management and standards are better across the board. The quality of the food is noticeably higher and the service to match. Much improved

An OK experience, though it is somewhat of a disappointment to assume one is drinking a potentially interesting ale in the Old Wallop, only to find Davy's have simply renamed Courage Directors...

Usual Davy�s affair with business suits taking out their secretaries and a limited selection of overpriced drinks masked as the elixir of the cultured class � do me a favour!

Unless you are a suit with an expense account, forget this place.
It is a desert in the middle of an oasis of good pubs, better beers and staff without a charisma by-pass operation. Beer definitely watered down here, a bit of personality would not go amiss.
Get a grip you lot, not everyone round here is a suit with bottomless expenses and no sense of taste for diluted beer.
Trading Standards anyone?

Have been here a couple of times. Had the Wallop and was absolutely positive it was either watered down or the makers have changed the recipe. Its lost some of its kick. The manager wasn't really interested, he was adamant its the same as always.
The food is expensive for what it is, so won't be going back.
