Positives -
- Cheap drinks and food
- Big smoking garden
- Quite a bit of indoor seating

Negatives -
- Very rude doorstaff, who will practically throw your drink away to get you out of the pub way before closing
- Very busy on the weekend, yet there never seems to be enough barstaff. The barstaff themselves are pleasant enough, but on weekends they seem to be overworked and tired. More staff are needed
- On the new food menu, the vegetarian options are practically non-existent.

Opposite station, cheap beer, chain pub...I was expecting this to be ghastly when I went in recently for the first time for years. But it's actually quite good. As rachael says the old alky brigade seem to have moved on (nextdoor it would appear) and there is now a mixed age crowd of generally nice friendly people. Huge garden out the back which even non-smokers like myself can enjoy. Definitely worth a visit.

Downside: It's just changed hands from M&B to some new pubco, they've taken some of the beer range away (Kronenbourg, Carlsberg & I think one ale) and put the prices up (London Pride from £2.10 to £2.55 - still cheap for Romford but quite a hike all the same).

It's a GREAT PUB!
Especially now that the smoking ban has come into place alot less old drunken men are there.
It's become pretty youthful actually.
The drinks are really cheap, not only the beer but cocktails and bottled alcho-pops are too.
I would defiantly spend every weekend in here!

Nipped in here as it was the nearest pub to the station, vast place, much like a W*nkerspoons, but with a garden out the back. I bet its wedged on a Friday and Saturday night, I had a pint of OK LOndon Pride at the very reasonable price of £2.10, Tetley bitter was also available, the huge bar has a staggaring number of fizz fonts, it took me a while to find the handpumps!
