| Yep, liked this one. Again like the Ring further down the Cut, the Windmill Tavern has a modern décor but not too modern and is festooned with black and white photos, this time of actors due to its proximity to the Old & Young Vics. It’s a two room pub either side of a central serving area, with the back room being reached by an archway to the left of the bar. The enormous hanging wall mirror gives the front bar a light and airy feel and there is an outside bench area under an awning to the front of the pub. As mentioned below the beer choice is not brilliant, but there was Speckled Hen and Sharps Doombar on yesterday which were perfectly pleasant. Gann - 16 May 2009 12:34 |

| ALONG WITH THE KING'S ARMS, DOWN BEHIND AND OWNED BY THE SAME FAMILY THIS/THESE ARE THE VERY BEST PUBS IN WATERLOO. CLEAN, WELCOMING AND GREAT ATMOSPHERE. FOOD'S GREAT TOO, BUT EVEN BETTER NEXT DOOR, SO WELL WORTH HAVING A GREAT DRINK HERE AND POPPING NEXT DOOR. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR WAITING FOR A TRAIN FROM WATERLOO. OUTSIDE BENCHES ARE COVERED AND GOOD PEOPLE WATCHING AREA. GREAT LOOKING BIRDS GOING BY. I HAVE A GOOD OLD TIME ENJOYING THE DELIGHTS OF A CIGAR OR TWO OR THREE HERE IN ALL WHETHERS. ENJOY!
