Best of a bad bunch round here.

Yes, the beer is poo but that's because no one in the local vicinity wants anything other than some firewater to smash down their faces and take advantage of the late license (and before anyone complains - I have done exactly that). Beer garden is lovely for a summer drink, and service is always with a smile.

It'll never win awards for being an experience but if you enjoy a pub where it's easy to get served, easy to watch football without 6 million people elbowing you or shoving their armpit in your mush, and don't want to feel intimidated by the locals, then here is the place. Just don't expect too much...

...and BTW I preferred the Connaught in it's heyday. Both very similar places....

Mediocre pub selling bland multinational brands of 'beer' to the accompaniment of a Sky sports and flashing games machines. This pub looks great from the outside - all tiled and with hanging baskets and seating. Also excellent beer garden. But what's the point if there is no choice at the bar but the same unappetizing selection of fizzy piss-water that you can get anywhere else. Waste of time!

This pub is not going to be knocked down, it has been saved!! Good job too, because one of only decent pub in the area. Pubs dropping like flys round here.

A nice big pub with pool tables, pinball, space invaders, big screen footy. A great beer garden in the summer, wiht the fountain of the name.

Cheap, decent food (nothing special, but helps soak up the beer), reasonable priced drinks, bottles of lager from 99p. Unfortunatley no real ales.

Great opening hours, open til midnight sun-weds, later thurs-sat. Live bands and discos.

I like it!

I used to go to a blues jam here an thursday night which was good, relaxing atmosphere, quiet pub, decent beer,
i am annoyed because they are knocking down this pub and building more flats to make greedy profit and to house benefit scroungers/cheats
