user reviews of the Lion, Eastwick

Had a stop here while on a long walk on a lovely sunny autumn Sunday. For a pub in such a tiny village it was doing a good trade. best describe it as a proper old pub, two bars, huge garden area and a great very friendly landlord to a stranger like me. Its a McMullins place so not my favourite drink but the AK was kept well and nice and cheap. TV for the football but the sound was off in the smaller bar I was in so not too bad. My only negative point was the carpeting, no need, its not my living room. Will certainly visit again.

Chiefknut right this is a complete hidden gem. Where do I start. This is a real pub, with great beer, a very welcoming landlord (Dave) and the most friendly clientele. Very nice outside drinking area in a lovely little hamlet.

I have visited this pub at various times, and always the welcome the same, and always there are characters in there that will chat to you. Don't worry if you are not a local, or just passing on the A414 this pub always has a welcome.

If you live in harlow, and fancy a stroll this pub always worth the walk

One of Harlows hidden gems. The Landlord is of the old school, welcoming, friendly and never in a rush. You may have to wait a couple of seconds for the perfect pint, but truly worth it. Totally recommended for CAMRA minibus crawls.

The village of Eastwick is cut of from the rest of the world by the busy A414, but you may want to give the Lion a try if you're passing. It's a fairly basic village local, unaltered since the seventies I would say, but friendly enough despite proximity to Harlow. Very nice McMullen's.
