Popped in with the family over the weekend, great food, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Good choice of local ales means I guess this is a freehouse. I remember coming here when I worked at the airport and it was THE place to go...looks like it's still a favourite of the locals and visitors alike...we'll be back, Sunday lunches looked great by the way...wished I'd ordered one when I saw it coming out. great garden even if the weather wasn't the best though.

A library with alcohol? Sounds superb!

A nice place to visit in the summer for a Ploughmans lunch in the huge conservatory. Will keep going back. Quaint front bar, a bit like being in a library.

Dreadful service. Having waited patiently for my turn to be served (there was only one person before me), locals turned up at the bar to be served immediately, The manageress looked at me indicating she knew what was happening. We took our custom to the Surrey Oaks in Newdigate where much better food and beer were served.

Good food, reasonably priced (and cheaper than the Jolly Farmer, it's sister pub), nicely full with attentive staff. Great for a bit of mid week supper.
