Of the 2 pubs in Princetown, this is more of a locals pub than the Plume of Feathers. Dartmoor Jail Ale & Sharps Doom Bar were the 2 ales on offer at the semi-circular bar. Similar to most pubs in the area, it has stone walls. Some of the clientele were singing along to the music whilst we were there, which was mildly amusing. Glasses were building up on some tables, despite there being few customers. Could be better.

I have always found this pub to be welcoming homely place bustling with people. It is fair to say that this is the locals pub of Princetown but i have never had any problems here.

8/10

Visited this pub for the first time last week. It was a very misty, wet afternoon. Dartmoor was extremely bleak. Then I found The Prince of Wales pub. I walked in with trepidation, worried as t what I might find. It was brilliant! I was greeted ny an extremely friendly young barman who served up the most exquisite Jail Ale. I then had a couple of games of pool and more Jail Ale. I didn't have any, but the advertised food looked good too. I'd recommend this pub to anyone.

Pub is grimy inside and out and needs general decorating. The landlord is actively unwelcoming if you are not a local and shuts the kitchens when he feels like it. I have not been back since the second occasion when we went in for food well within the advertised time and were told that the kitchens were shut, on one occasion because they were busy and on the second because they were quiet. In contrast the Plume of Feathers down the road is reliable and welcoming.
