Wow! What a transformation, the last time I visited this pub it was like a set from "Shameless". I was recommended by work collegues to give the pub another go, I am so glad I did. I can't believe how clean and bright everything is and such a great outside space now ( still looks a bit like a community centre, but the best has been made of it ). I was greeted by friendly staff, they actually smile now and want to serve you! I had a real ale ( incredible as this was such a lager pub! and it was really good. The management obviously care and standards are very high. I will definately be back and will be recommending the place to everyone i know. I certainly would not have said this 2 years ago. Well done and keep up the good work. pomp3yboy - 21 Jan 2012 18:59
The pub has changed hands again, however it appears for the better. Live music and "a full programme" of activities throughout the week if you are into that sort of thing..... Poker Nights, Darts comps and the like.... always clean and tidy inside and ....THAT SMELL HAS GONE FROM OUTSIDE LOL JohnOh77 - 14 Jul 2009 15:29
Quite surprised after reading the reviews on here when I walked in to this pub.....Yes it has big TV's ..... Yes it has OK food..... Beer is ok too. However, the smell of "funny" cigarettes outside the pub does kinda put you off the rest...!!! JohnOh77 - 9 May 2008 13:06
since the pub changed hands in may its a much better place to go to as none of the idiots go there anymore all trouble makers and most drug users have been barred lovely atmosphere and now carvery on a sunday. asso - 17 Mar 2008 22:05
I agree. Reasonable locals and relatively chav-free. Dartboard is a big plus. Not a large selection of ales on but heigh ho. "Old man" bar better for a quiet drink away from the pool tables and plasmas. Harsh_Singh - 1 Jun 2007 16:48
