After a long search for a country pub that did food. We came aross the Bridge Inn. From the minute we walked in the door we felt very welcome. The gentleman behind the bar was very helpful and polite.
The sunday roast's we ordered were very nice indeed, the portions were huge. The meat was lovely and tender and the vegetables were cooked perfect. The desserts were gorgeous(treacle puddding and ice-cream & chocolate sponge with cream) the sponges were not dry at all. The young waitress who served us was very polite and professional. The price's were maybe a little high but I think the portions you got were well worth it. If I happen to be in the area again I will certainly go here for a drink and food.

Excellent Sunday Roast yesterday but I personally could have done with more vegetables and I thought it was a little pricey but the dessert was miles too expensive at £4.75 for meringue and ice cream how ever nice it was! Great beer though!

I always feel a touch unwelcome here when visiting just to sup ale, everything appears to be geared towards the dining folk and the bar feels like a waiting room for the restaurant.

That said the pub itself is always sparklingly clean and though the beers are not always my preferred tipple they are well kept, and I own a springer who truly appreciates the dog garden, nice touch.

Friendly, authentic Old English pub serving above average food with polite if not professional service, add a very friendly atomosphere and it merits 9/10.

Good food, good beer. However food service is a little on the slow side, and whilst the "olde worlde" ambience is excellent, the ceiling is just a little too low for comfort.
Having said that, would certainly go back - and intend to soon.
