Brilliant pub/restaurant near Chichester. Changed hands a couple of years ago and now provides really excellent food at reasonable prices. There is a restaurant section with a fixed price menu from which you can choose 2 or 3 courses and there is also a specials board. There is a separate bar section where you can choose from a board. It's very good to see that the bar is home to locals who have dropped in for a pint - so often when a pub goes a bit upmarket they are made unwelcome. Service is unfailingly cheerful and professional and the menu changes regularly. Highly recommended. madonmozart - 24 Mar 2009 10:52
This was a classic failing country pub. Now run by a very professional team. Two proper chefs. Food very good. Not nasty pub food, not cheap but high quality. Some good real Ales and a nice atmosphere. richardcouerdelion - 8 Mar 2009 17:38
Excellent food in the restaurant - with budget combinations available. A difficult pub to leave ! trikemaniac - 17 Oct 2008 19:30
A great little pub. Friendly welcome and good beer. A slightly cramped layout in the traditional drinking area. Reastaurant area is more modern and spacious. Excellent food with an emphasis on the locally caught fish. just a couple of hundred yards south of the Donnington bridge over the Chichester canal, makes for a good stopping off point if walking the tow path between Birdham and Chichester. sbart - 4 Oct 2006 22:02
