Popped in on a Tuesday night and the place was dead. Shame really, the guy behind the bar was friendly enough and the pool table is excellent. Pub itself is clean and tidy - I can't say the same about the gents... Erdingerfan - 7 Sep 2011 12:06
A curious place. The atmosphere seems to change with the seasons. Worth a visit. netsmith72 - 6 Oct 2009 16:00
Popped back in today - set-up similar to previous - L-shaped pub, nice outside area, TV sport. There's now though now 3 ales - Pride, Courage Best and Adnams Broadside. My Broadside was decent enough. If you have a 20 minute wait at the station, it's still worthwhile. Quinno - 23 Aug 2009 17:56
Went there early evening. Very quiet (not surprising really). Nice pint and well kept. Recommended. Dan137 - 23 Aug 2009 09:12
| This pub can be very up and down. On the one hand it can be a very welcoming, lively and hillarious little boozer, with characters right out of some bizare film. Good banter, a real feel of comeradery and a place you could call a favourite. However, on other nights you could walk in and not recognise the place. Young and brash teenagers, swearing and agressive language, and no recognisable faces. It's more often good than not, but the first pint is often 'the tester' to see if you will stay or go.
