Booked in on Wednesday night as was working in the area. Enjoyable stay, friendly staff and good ale at a good price. What more could you want?

Superb pub: the Crown Brewery tap. Friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Food and accommodation also on offer. A must visit when in Sheffield and easy to get to by tram.

The Crown Brewery tap, in an area of Sheffield that has seen better days and now is a testament to Britain's declining manufacturing industry. The pub, however, is an oasis, nicely fitted out with a conservatory to look out over the hills, the gas works and the Mecca bingo super centre surrounded by barbed wire. Around 8 real ales in excellent condition and highly convenient for the tram makes this pub weel worth a visit.

Gem of a pub by the tram lines - 8 ales on tap including 5 from the Crown brewery - a pint of 'Dislocation' was £2.20. The Traditional Bitter was very tasty. Cheaper than Devonshire with £2.90 for a 5.8% ale. Large pub extended out the back by the conservatory (careful greenhouse effect) with a small beer garden surrounding it. Ale pie, chips & mushy peas were lovely.

Well worth the tram ride out of town (get off at Langsett/Primrose View) to find this hotel-cum-pub-cum-brewery which offers good beers ; B&B and food as well as a traditional pub atmosphere in the bars. Handy if you're on your way to Sheffield Wednesday footie (but not as close as the New Barrack Tavern) but make the effort anyway to visit this bar and try their beers.
