It wouldn't take much imagination to turn this into the best pub on the river for miles. Even the tossers on the Apprentice could manage it: well maybe not. Unrefurbish it back to being a ancient village inn, turn the car park into a garden and replace Greedy King with some sympathetic and competent management and you'll have the punters flocking from miles around. It is worth a visit as it is, but you do have to trade the pleasure of spending an afternoon by the river with the rather more dubious pleasure of sitting in a car park full of white vans and other assorted chavmobiles. nickdavies - 11 May 2008 12:03
This is an old building repeatedly wrecked by development over the years - a teardown structure on a riverside site. Formula food and shifty service - why do I always feel I have been ripped off when I wander in? Does a pint of Abbott really cost £3.90? Is it really lejit to show a customer one bottle of wine and then try to serve another? Charmless. jathomson - 1 Apr 2008 19:05

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and really enjoyed. It's in a lovely setting with a good bitter selection (well kept), great food & reasonably priced. Definitely the pick of the pubs in the area. SomeDrinker - 9 Jul 2007 10:22
