Still serving food at 2:30 on Saturday, good service, comfortable in the long seats, nice fire burning, and the food was good (including the vegetables). aaahpub - 25 Oct 2011 18:41
I wish I'd been to this pub when the other reviewers had. There were people smoking in the doorway who didn't even attempt to make room for us to get through; the few people inside were huddled around the bar, and stared at us as we came in. Clearly we weren't welcome. The barmaid was as far away from the patrons as she could be, and after telling us that they don't do food, we promptly made our exit, glad to be out of the quite extraordinarily unpleasant atmosphere. inabag - 3 Dec 2008 16:30
Good pub with some lovely White Beer that can cause some serious damage to your ability to see. londinieres - 16 Jul 2007 19:55
Not bad. We went on a Thursday night which was pie night. You could have anything to eat as long as it was a pie and for an extra £2 you could have double pie (i.e. savory pie followed by apple pie for desert) I had a pint of swift nick on hardpull which was good. Narrowly pipped to the post by the Star (and a much better menu if you are a veggie) nande2000 - 27 Feb 2007 12:53
Recently refurbished with stone floors, log fires etc. Best beer in the village. Busy 5 - 6 pm. Has music but you can avoid it. Food is good, simple, village fare but the wine list is good. Landlord plans to set up a micro-brewery this year (2007). Peter Humphrey - 13 Feb 2007 15:41
