What a cracking pub!
We popped in for a couple of pints and I didn't want to leave. I was drinking Harveys Lewes Castle Brown Ale which was superb. The building has a lovely, warm feel to it and a nicely tucked away sports bar for those of interest. This did not detract in any way from the rest of the pub. We chose to sit in the garden to the rear which is massive. The staff were very pleasant.

A traditional Kentish village pub, with a well-preserved interior comprising two bars plus a back room (together with a dining area in a modern extension). There is also a beer garden to one side plus a couple of benches out the front. Perhaps I was unlucky as only three of the nine handpumps were in use when I last visited, but my pint of the local Larkins (£3.20) was first class (with Harveys and Westerham Summer Perle also available). NB - If walking from one of the stations in Edenbridge, there is a reasonable footpath (SR617) running between the side of the cottage hospital and the back of the green at Marsh Green which avoids the busy roads when the footways run out.

Has many ales and cider, arguably the best range for miles.
But the pub looks mucky and the empty beer barrels and crud lying around outside for years puts off most people from stopping.
Only for the real ale anoraks, otherwise avoid.

A welcome return to a pub that is always a winner. Great range of beers and good food. Congratulations on receiving the 15 continous years in the Good Beer Guide certificate. it is one of the few pubs that I make sure I will have a real cider.

Our coach was refused an early entry to the Royal Oak in Crockham hill so I suggested the Wheatsheaf as an alternative. I have known the guvnor Neil for nigh thirty years, it was nice to see that he was keeping well. Six damn fine beers on pump, Knots of May ( Harvey's Mild) and the Roosters got the vote as being unsurpassably excellent. Brian the funniest barman in Britain has sadly left and has had serious health problems.
