Went in tonight for the first time in ages. Five beer pumps and only an indifferent Adnams Broadside available which had a tang of bleach. Only person in there with the (extremely fit) barmaid putting stools on tables at 2240. Had a pint and left.

Pub has died the death since the new landlady took over. If you like a quiet pint this is the place for you. But then again they will probably have runout of ale two days after the dray has been. Get there before 2100 as she will have probably have closed. Avoid like the plague, go to the Provvy round the corner.

Call in occasionally and did so last night. Curate's egg of a pub - good for beer, quite friendly and comfortable. The bad points; I must agree with the previous commenter re the bar staff, the first young girl who served me last night was inattentive, inefficient and plain rude. Her replacement, also young was much better though. It may be that the volume of the juke box had something to do with the first one's hearing problems mind. Better than most in the locality - rates a 6 from me

Fine when Landlord ot Landlady are working behind bar. If not be prepared to wait for a pint. Young girl behind bar seems to think that she is only there to play the locals at pool whilst the other barmaid on a midweek night spends all her time talking to her friends, on her mobile or outside behind the pub for some reason.

A great little, traditional pub. Frosted, patterned windows make for an excellent frontage, comfy seats a nice interior. This is a pub that remarkably manages to be almost all things to all men. As previous commenters have already said, the interesting mix of regulars makes this a great and interesting little pub.

A good selection of real ales makes it my first port of call on many evenings (I'd go so far as to call this pub my Plymouth local). Clifton Classic is a pint that will always go down well if nothing else catches your fancy. Thatchers Gold and Addlestons are the two ciders that have been on recently.
