| After being tempted to enter by the ivy clad exterior and a sign board promising slow cooked food we entered into a stone flagged bar with a roaring log fire. The young barmaid and a couple of locals made us feel immediately welcome and I settled down with a well kept and tasty pint of Brains Rev James, my wife was in juice. We ordered food and the S African Stew and Lamb Shank were as good as we have had anywhere and the Lemon Tart was excellent. The pub soon filled up up mainly with middle aged couples having a meal. We stayed on for four more pints before returning to our rooms at Llangoed Hall. It appears to have rooms too.
