Don't be fooled by peeling paint outside because this is a great pub, Good beer (lots of choice) and well priced well cooked food. We (group of cyclists) were made very welcome. This pub was recommeded by a local and we were not disapointed. AJM - 3 Dec 2011 21:34
Massively improved under current management (Paddy and Steve). Always at least 6 real ales on tap, many from local brewers like Three Castles, Pewsey and Ramsbury. Excellent food, especially the Seychelles curry! Friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the building itself is badly in need of some TLC... which hopefully will happen when Greene King give up the lease next year. jimatgp - 23 Nov 2011 17:33
Characteful pub with a good range of slightly pricey ales. Apparently owned by Greedy King but only had one of their beers (Old Trip) and five others from local micros (W.Berkshire, Ramsbury etc). Very friendly dog called Barney. Recommended. baxterfish - 8 Nov 2011 08:02
This has always been a good pub, let's hope it continues to be. Stonecoat - 22 Feb 2011 11:10
Landlord tries hard but the place is not welcoming from the outside. The pub is looking tired inside and out. Apparently Greene King are not renewing their lease - planning permission is currently in place to update the place and put it back to a suitable state before they hand it back. So as the Town and Manor of Hungerford own the site, they will now have a to find a new lessee for the premises. We will see what happens. Lord_Jeffers - 4 Jan 2011 14:37
