| Being so small actually works to this place's advantage, as everyone naturally assumes it will be packed, leaving plenty of room for you! As you could well imagine for somewhere this homely, infinitely more friendly and welcoming than the fatigue/fatigues-laden dens further down the Barbican. getsit - 2 Mar 2008 11:48 |
| This pub is at the very far end of the Barbican in Plymouth, very near to the Mayflower steps. The landlord is an ex police man from Bristol and is a very nice chap. This is a fantastic one roomed pub, from the outside it looks a bit like a old town house and it probably was, when you walk through the door you are greeted by comfy seating and carpets and lots of Naval pictures, they serve all the usual lagers and up until very late they served the best and only Flowers Original in Plymouth! this was dispensed direct from the barrel i now understand that he serves Summerskills Best and this is still served direct from the cask. This a great pub to relax in and a good stop if you want to know about the Naval history of Plymouth, it is also right near the Citadel walls and you have a fantastic outlook over to Mountbatten and the marinas below. Definitely worth a visit. Closed Monday evening! Trouty - 17 Nov 2006 11:36 |
