Having heard a great deal about the food, we dined here recently, the food is extremely good, but mean in size and very expensive. the beer is excellent and the service both friendly and efficient. A great pub for a special occasion, but not one for the ravenous!

Rather more restaurant than pub.Not cheap and the portion sizes are a bit on the small side. Can't fault the actual place - the garden and covered patio are especially nice. The beer is good as is the food and the staff friendly and helpful, but if you are looking for a good hearty pub feed then this is not the place.

My first visit to this pub was on a Sunday lunch time and it was packed and we felt our muddy hiking boots would be rather unwelcome. Had another go last Saturday lunch time and while busy, there was a free table in the bar area and hikers and dog walkers are most welcome.

The pub side of things is excellent, the Dark Star Old Ale was superb. They also had a couple of other ales, a number of ciders and a huge list of whiskies.

The food is expensive but it is also very good with an emphasis towards
home made, locally sourced and organic fare. They sell home made bread too, £1.95 for a loaf is on the high side but it is very good bread.

The staff very friendly and helpfull too.

The only down side is the number of screaming brats infesting the place.

Nice pub, lovely garden, Lunchtime menu (Garden) disappointing, restaurant menu very expensive. After one drink decided to go to another pub for lunch. We won't be going back.

Out-of-the-way pub, but foodies in the know find it. Although primarily a restaurant, there are likely to be two or three real ales served from the barrel, usually from local breweries. When I called they were all hoppy, golden ales. Attractive, quiet garden, excellent for a relaxing Summer afternoon. Closed Sunday eves.
