| Formerly The Underground/The Cavern, this pub has undergone something of a renaissance in since April 2006. The new landlords (Shawy and Loz) have breathed new life into this tired old pub, and this is reflected in the patrons. It is now pretty much a safe haven in this town of chavs, with friendly bar staff and cheap beer. The pub is also beginning to build a reputation as a great life music venue with regular metal gigs and a fortnightly celtic folk band. Musically, they are obviously working hard not get pidgeon-holed, and appear to be aiming to provide something for everyone. It seems to be working well...I've never seen bikers, metallers and folkies mingling so happily in the same pub before!! earthlysparky - 27 Jul 2006 16:51 |
