WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

I had a club sandwich and my wife the pea and mint soup, 25 minuets after ordering I had to ask if the food would be much longer as I had to go back to work and didn't think that it would take so long for a sandwich and soup, after 5 more minutes the food came

1. chicken was dry as if it had been sat on the pass

2. I think the coleslaw was from a shop

3. the bread was soggy from the coleslaw

4. chips where cold

5. my wife's soup was very tasty but it was so hot that after 10 minutes she still couldn't eat it as if at had been microwaved

6. on check back waitress ask if the food was ok I said rushed after the long wait nothing was said back she just walked off

7. when paying I was asked if the food was ok I replied no and again nothing was asked about this she just looked down at the card reader.

We have tried to contact the restaurant twice but they are not will to talk to me.

Pleasant pub, open all day, which def earns it a bonus point. Staff seemed pleasant. I had a Thatchers Gold cider to drink, which hit the spot, but the beer selection seemed reasonable. Attractive interior and good beer garden, well worth a visit.

My wife and I have been to the Angel twice in the last two months for lunch both times together and with our 13 year old eldest. Consistantly excellent service with food which although not cheap was beautifully presented and hit the spot each time. Very good fruity guest beer from Yorkshire on first visit. Sunday roasts very good according to sister in law who ate their last Sunday on our recommendation. Eat in the bar if you can.

My wife and I had a meal here while staying nearby. We went for the simple menu in the bar and the food was very good. The staff were friendly and we felt comfortable and at home in the pleasant atmosphere of this warm pub. Also called in for coffee in the morning and received the same warm welcome.

Called in on our way to Bath, just of A36. What a find we both had the Ribeye which aparently is hung for 35 days. It certainly made a difference. Terrific.
Looking forward to our next visit as the roast looked pretty good aswell.
