| The place is top notch. Excellent beer and cider, always served perfectly. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent, it takes a while to come . try the fish and chips, huge quality fish thin crispy batter (none of that soggy) and homemade chips brisk - 16 Oct 2008 13:13 |
| I was looking for a pub that did good food at reasonable price for a Sunday afternoon meal for 4 in the Hebden Bridge area and I came across the pub on the net. Not much to look at from either the inside or out but had a nice traditional feel about the place. The menu was what you’d expect – good pub food (fish n chips, sausage n mash, steak pie, gammon etc, but also had a specials board) but was cooked really well, very tasty and hot !. good portions served with excellent service. Good selection of traditional desserts/puddings. If you want haute cuisine don’t go, if you want good beer, good food in a friendly atmosphere then go there. We will definitely go again but may book – most tables were reserved but managed to get two courses in within the 1 hour ‘til the next party turned up. PandL - 6 May 2008 12:38 |
