Uninspiring Brews? This place serves Goddards Fugle de Dum - which is a locally made real ale fit for the gods! Anyone claiming to be a real ale drinker would sing it's praises.
Food is acceptable and good value - but hey (with reference to previous reviews) it is a beachfront pub for goodness sake! if you go to this place expectiong 5 star quality then yes you are going to be disappointed.

One of three bars in a row that try to emulate some kind of Marbella style beach front bar (except that there is a min road with buses running along it between them and the beach). It seemed okay for what it was and they had ale but it was pretty uninspiirng insipid brews. Strangely enough the best pub of the day at the end of the Esplanade in it's own little under cliff location (the inspiration for the Yates Undercliff ale which was best pint of the day) is not listed.

Great location and view of the sea but thats were the positives stop! The food was beyond bad - the salmon special on asparagus came to us as frozen and re-heated in a microwave so there was no surprise when the veg was rubbery (you couldnt cut through the asparagus) and the salmon totally overcooked and dry. It was a little surprise however to find lumps of dirt on the potatoes and moldy, dirty cauliflower! My sauteed mushrooms in garlic sauce was a bowl of slop like campbells mushroom soup, only a great deal worse. The tables were also left dirty and uncleaned for the duration of our time there (which admittedly wasnt long). Such a shame for a pub in such a great location with this view.

Beer okay, great location, let down by food though, salad was limp and looked like it had been sat around all day, day 1: greasy burgers, thought we'd give the place another go, day 2: fish overcooked, had to ask for cloth to clean table ourselves. just go there for the view which is fantastic.

fantastic location but they let themselves down by not cleaning the outside tables which had grease and beer stains over them. Beer was good quality but a bit pricey but the food was very good and above average in quality.
