This being our 4th visit to Sam & Maxie's, we were actually so outraged by the service, food and drinks, that we actually had to sign up to rant about it!

We ordered bloody marys, which had no tobasco (although it states on the menu it was in) We then said to the waiter about this, to which he laughed, and bought us a catering size bottle of severly watered down tobasco. Needless to say, neither of us finished our drinks.

Our starters were cold, tasteless or burnt.

Main courses (prawn risotto & steak) were beyond anything either of us have eaten.

The prawns were burnt, and the "steak" was mearly two pieces of scraggy meat held together with a huge lump of fat.

It's a shame, as the first few times we've been, the service was excellent and the food was good.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever again.

Bland and inoffensive, with overpriced food and the service can be iffy. It's not bad, per se, just dull and characterless. But what do you expect of a bar in the middle of a giant car park?

Another bland conversion from a previous thriving meeting spot (The Exchange). Food good but overpriced, service slow (even midweek), NO REAL ALE. More of a restaurant than a pub.

Just had a conversion, run of the mill food but fantastic attentive staff. Highly recomended.
