"Ale House" with no, well, ale! OK, fizzy Sam Smiths but nowt else. Shame, as it is a lovely interior. curioushistory - 26 Jan 2012 11:35
I used to really like this place, but i have recently changed my opinion. Bar staff are so slow and often surly. I asked for my stout to be topped up because it had a huge head and I refuse to pay todays prices for foam, I was told to lump it and that their policy was not to top up beers!! Wont be using it again. hammers101 - 27 Jul 2011 19:58
What a horrible night at the Kings Williams pub. We met at the Williams to have our first beer. The bartender took ages to serve us, so I told him that we were next. He kept ignoring us and refuse to serve us because he said we were rude!!! absolutly incredible. We will never again come back to Kings Williams pub. tania333 - 17 Oct 2010 16:38
Can only really echo what others have said. This is a decent pub with a pleasant ambience in the central area, certainly one of the best nearby. They always seems to close at 11:00, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it keeps out some of the riff raff :-) "Beers" are all from Samuel Smith's, so no proper ales, although their organic cider certainly beats the Strongbow that many nearby establishents sell. A bit on the pricey side though - over £8 for two half's of cider, a coke and a rum and coke. Blackthorn - 22 Nov 2009 00:12
Yes, as previously noted you might, and I mean just might, expect the King William Ale House as is its full title proudly displayed outside, to have some of them on sell. Ever feel like you're being cheated? I consulted the bar girl and was informed that only keg beers available. She said they used to sell them (real ales) but not any more. A pity as it is an attractive looking pub inside. Need a decent LL with a passion for the amber, and maybe things could change for the place. Dandillus - 7 Sep 2009 20:18
